The
purpose of initiation is the spiritual unfoldment of the individual.
The esoteric school provides training in a course of spiritual studies,
with a dynamic process of transmission of teaching through relationship
with one’s guide. The aim is to discover a means of expressing
divinity in one’s life and through one’s being, honoring
individual goals and sense of calling.
Initiation is the linking of the individual with the chain of masters
and teachers stretching back through the ages.
The
spiritual journey takes place in a context of a community of seekers
in local centers as well as in the greater society.
“Initiation,
in plain words, is like the experience
of a person who has never learned how to swim,
who steps into the river or into the sea for the
first time, without knowing whether he will be
able to float or whether he will be swept away
and drowned. Every person has had an initiation
in the worldly sense in some form or another."

Initiation
is the willingness
to take just the first step
toward a destination that you know not. |
The
true seeker will never stop halfway; either he finds or he loses
himself entirely.
